Eligibility – Smart Checks Before Applying

You must:

  • Hold a PhD or equivalent
  • Be either:
    • A permanent academic staff member at an eligible research body, or
    • A contract postdoctoral researcher at an eligible research body
  • Be based at a recognised Irish Eligible Research Body at the submission deadline
  • Not be being looked at right now for some other Research Ireland programs
  • Meet the requirements for past fellowships if you have been funded before.

International applicants: You don’t have to be Irish to apply, but you do have to be affiliated with an Irish research group at the time of application.

  • 71 projects available across 26 departments

    • Shows that the idea is relevant
    • Allows for effects to be measured within 12 months
