UK Free Housing Unite Foundation Scholarships 2026-2027

Most grants only give money to students and let them handle the rest. More than that, the UK Free Housing Unite Foundation Scholarships 2026-2027 pay for all of a qualified undergraduate’s housing costs across the whole of the UK.

Students who have been in care, have left care, or are no longer with their families and want to study at a partner university in the UK can now apply. The program takes away one of the biggest financial stresses college students have: the cost of living.

The grant has been around since 2012 and is backed by Unite Students, which is the biggest provider of student housing in the UK. Since it began, the program has helped more than 880 students, and more than 450 of them have finished their studies.

There are 70 new scholarships offered at 22 partner universities in the UK for the 2026–2027 school year. These universities are in England, Scotland, and Wales. There’s a lot of competition. During the last round of applications, 406 qualified applicants were sent in for just 70 spots.

Because there are only so many scholarships available, it is important to know what the rewards are, who is eligible, and how to apply before you do so.

Can students move accommodation during work placements?

Yes, if a student undertakes a placement or job in another city, they may apply for accommodation in another Unite Students property near their workplace, depending on availability.

Financial Benefits Unite Foundation Scholarship:

  • Student Housing with Private Bathroom: The Unite Foundation Scholarship gives students in the UK a private bathroom with their own bedroom in purpose-built student housing. As a result, scholars don’t have to worry about paying rent, so they can focus on their studies.
  • No Utility Bills or Internet Costs: There are no utility bills or internet costs because all of your basic living costs are covered, like heat, power, water, and high-speed Wi-Fi. This takes away one of the main financial stresses that many college students have every month while they are learning.
  • Year-Round Housing Security: There is housing available 365 days a year, not just during school times. During breaks and holidays, students don’t have to look for temporary housing because they can stay in their rooms.
  • There is no need for a security fee or a rent guarantee for this scholarship, which is different from most student housing in the UK. This is especially helpful for kids who have been through a lot of care and whose families may not be able to help them financially.
  • Help for Up to Three Years: The grant pays for housing for up to three years of college at partner universities. This long-term help makes sure that students have safe housing for most of their degree program.
  • Access to a Safe and Supported Living Environment: Scholars live in professionally managed housing given by Unite Students. The housing has on-site staff, maintenance services, emergency support, and shared facilities that are meant to make the community of students feel safe and supported.
